Bub not everyone out of work is a lazy bum, some people have no choice. Don't assume things about people you couldn't possibly know. I bet your not so Perfect!??

I am in debt BUT was in debt while I was working hard but I ALWAYS kept up with payments, then my partner fell ill, I gave up work and that's when everything spiralled out of control due to charges and interest and late payments. I ALWAYS offered payments every month to my creditors, it was their choice to reject those. With help from the CCCS I have now got repayment plans with everyone and even managed to pay 3 of them off!

Getting your debt under control through FREE debt charities (they DO NOT take ANY money from you for themsleves) is the best way forward. No more phone calls and letters, no more stress and worry AND I am paying things back!
The CCCS have been great! I wish I knew about them when I was working and not so much more in debt than I am now!
I will pay them off, eventually, just got to keep a steady pace. Feel so much better for getting things under control!

  • Firstly, ignore the ignorant comments about getting a job, easier said than done. And stop worrying about being in debt. Most people have debt these days, including banks!

I have debts like anyone else and do not work because of illness and disability. The amounts of the debts are not insurmountable, but I stand no nonsense from debt collection agencies, threats of bailiffs or county court judgements.

If debt collection agencies are writing to you, write back - never phone - and ask them to prove that they are authorised to collect this debt. Too many of these companies try it on. I helped one woman who paid someone else's debt because of harassment. And she was still being pursued by another debt collector! Somebody here was lying. She had been marked down as a mug. Also, ask them to provide you with the original credit agreement signed by you under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Until they can provide this, they have to cease all attempts at collection. If the debt is old, chances of them providing it are small.

There is plenty of advice on debt collectors on You Tube and consumer websites. There is no stigma in being in debt today. We can thank Gordon Brown for getting us into this mess. It has been his policies that have bankrupted the country and cost millions their jobs.

The day will come when you are back on your feet and even if you get CCJs, they only last 6 years. In the mean time you can open a basic bank account and use prepaid credit cards to shop on line.
  • Yes I have a student loan & am hoping to get plenty of money to pay it off. The money hasn't reached me just yet but I am open to receiving it as soon as possible. I haven't got a salary but I do have work. I volunteer & that helps my self esteem a little plus it opens up a space for an unlimited salary. I hope you get what you need .... there is another way but you'll have to email me for that..
