7 years then they go to court, get a judgment against you, garnishee your pay. It never ends

  • I though it was 6 years, but like the first answerer says they will continue to come after you.

Don't forget your interest will have been racking up all the time, so depending on the debt interest your debt will be a lot more. If it is a credit card debt you could now owe as much in interest as the original debt!
  • Instead of running away from this problem why not seek to resolve it? You'll have much greater peace of mind. I recognize that it may be a challenge otherwise you would have probably resolved this by now but you'll gain much from making a decision and commitment to pay off this debt and do what it takes to get your life back on track.

  • You say you moving away a lot for personal reasons - fair enough, but you are running away from your debts also = stealing.
